About Lifestone

A family firm helping seniors find unexpected value.

We’re a small, family-owned life settlement company based in Lighthouse Point, Florida. We don’t run call centers. We don’t sell your information. We answer the phone.

Family-owned.

We answer the phone. Every senior gets a real person — someone who knows their case, returns their calls, and cares about the outcome. No transfers. No hold music. No automated systems.

On your side.

We don’t make offers on policies ourselves. We bring multiple institutional buyers to the table and let them compete for your policy. That competition is how we work to get you the highest possible offer.

Florida-based, transparent.

Headquartered in Lighthouse Point. We work with insurance agents, financial advisors, and estate attorneys across the country. Every step of the process is explained upfront — no surprises, ever.

Why we built Lifestone.

It started with a pattern we kept seeing: seniors letting valuable life insurance policies lapse — or surrendering them back to the insurance company for a fraction of what they were worth — simply because no one had told them there was another option. Billions of dollars in policy value disappear this way every year. Most of it belongs to people who could genuinely use that money.

We also saw the advisor side of the problem. Insurance agents and financial planners were sitting on books of business full of senior clients with maturing policies — but life settlements weren’t part of the conversation. Not because advisors didn’t care, but because the process felt complicated and the right partner was hard to find.

Lifestone was built to be that partner. Small enough to treat every client like the only client. Experienced enough to navigate the process without burdening anyone with paperwork or confusion. And honest enough to tell you upfront if a settlement isn’t the right move — even if that means walking away.

How we work, and how we write.

We are not the buyer. Lifestone does not purchase policies. We bring competing institutional buyers to the table and work to secure the highest offer for the policyholder. Every policy is evaluated individually, and no outcome can be assumed in advance.

Our guides are educational, not advice. Nothing we publish is legal, tax, or financial advice, and nothing on this site is a recommendation about any individual’s circumstances. We say so plainly in the articles themselves, and we point readers to an elder law attorney or their own tax professional where the decision warrants it.

We cite primary sources. Where our guides state a figure or a rule, we link to where it comes from — the NAIC and state insurance regulators, federal agencies such as Medicare and the Administration for Community Living, and published industry cost and settlement data. If a number cannot be sourced, we don’t print it.

We will tell you when the answer is no. A settlement is not the right move for everyone. Surrendering, keeping the policy, or using a rider already attached to it is sometimes the better outcome, and we would rather say so than sell against a client’s interest.
